GLUTEN FREE FOODS NEVER TASTED THIS GREAT

Entice Buckwheat Bread

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Time: Prep time 10 minutes, 30 minutes to rise (or longer if not using yeast) and 75 min to bake
  • Servings: makes 1 loaf

ingredients

  • 450g Entice Buckwheat flour
  • 450g (450ml) Warm Water
  • 15ml (1Tbs) Honey
  • 5ml (1tsp) Salt
  • 15ml (1Tbs) Entice Psyllium Husk
  • 1 Sachet Yeast OR 1 tsp Entice Baking powder

Love the flavour or buckwheat bread. This simple bread takes only minutes to prepare, and allow to rise in a warm place, then pop in the oven and bake. Could not be easier. A time saving trick is to bake 3 loaves at a time, and slice and freeze the extras, so that there is always a slice of bread ready when you want one. I love it toasted, but its also great as it is. Topped with honey is my go to favourite

Methods

  • Mix all the ingredients until combined.
  • Grease a small loaf tin (22 x 10cm) and line with baking paper.
  • Pour mix into loaf tin and allow to rise for 30 min in a warm place. IF you are not using yeast, allow to rise in a warm place for several hours or overnight.
  • Heat oven to 180°C
  • Place into hot oven and bake for 30 min at 180°C, then turn oven down to 165°C and bake for a further 45 minutes
  • Check the bread is baked by inserting a skewer, if it comes out clean its ready.
  • Allow to cool, slice and freeze.
  • Notes: If the crust is too hard to cut, put the bread into a plastic bag overnight, it will be easier to cut in the morning.
  • Cut the bread upside down if the crust is tearing while you cut it.
