Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale)
Uses
Slightly bitter earthy flavour. Can be used as a substitute for coffee.
Caffeine free
To make:
Soak 1 heaped tablespoon of the root overnight in 4 cups cold water. Bring to the boil for a few minutes and allow to cool. Strain into a cup and drink, leaving the rest of the tea to steep for later.
Can also steep 1 – 2 teaspoons in a cup of boiling water for 5 – 10 minutes if you don’t want to steep overnight. But steeping overnight is better.
Sweeten if necessary.
